Vintage Clothing Fashion Delights in the News Lily Allen to Launch Clothing Line

Lily Allen, the famous singer/songwriter from London has announced that she is leaving music behind and is going into the world of fashion.  In fact, she is going to be creating a clothing line as well as opening a clothing store!  Talk about ambition and diving in feet first!  I love the name of her label too–Lucy in Disguise.

So, with music on hold one can only hope that Miss Lily doesn’t disappoint with her new career adventure.  I wonder just how vintage inspired it will be?  In a recent interview she had with Style.com, she explained that she has always felt a passion for fashion and even as a musician she feels that music and fashion are not all that separate.  Hm…..?  She said she plans to take 5 years away from music to concentrate on her vintage inspired clothing line.

While she is tossing around the word vintage, I am not sure if these pieces are going to be new or retooled vintage pieces.  I think it would be hard to launch a whole line with retooled vintage items as each one would then be a one of a kind.  Not sure–we will have to wait and see.    But so what if it is retro and not true vintage, if it is affordable as I have heard it is supposed to be, it will be fun to pepper in some of her pieces with our organic vintage stuff.

The line is supposed to debut her line at Vintage at Goodwood August 13 to 15.    Only time will tell!
